Perfume Shopping

Speaking about perfumes, I haven't been buying much since Saresha left Singapore for her Masters in 2005. I used to follow her sniffing around Escentials when she was trying out the new perfumes.

And because of this, her preference for perfume houses' perfume influenced me. Namely because, commercial perfumes are just too simple and generic. (Don't they all smell the same?)

Unlike commercial perfumes, Perfume houses' perfume are more complex with more character. The notes themselves are more interesting and the top note to the drydown could very different!

I have liked Serge Lutens Daim Blond for very long time but then couldn't fork out the money for it because its so expensive! $179 per 50ml.

It's not that I haven't fork out money for perfumes this price range, but than I already have many perfumes at home!

Last week, I couldn't resist when Saresha called me!

*Ring Ring* "Hello LuxAsia having sale. L' Artisan and Serge Luten at 50% discount. Cheap"

At that point, I could only made out the words" Sale - L'Artisan, SL, Cheap "!

So thus, I asked Saresha to help me to get

1. A bottle of Serge Luten, Daim Blond
2. L'Artisan Mure Et Musc
3. L'Artisan Anana Fizz

A little introduction of Serge Daim Blond.

Daim Blond, one of Lutens’s Eaux de Parfum Haute Concentration was inspired by (white) suede; it has the notes of iris, apricot kernel, cardamom, musk, heliotrope, and hawthorn. If I had to describe its smell with one word, the word would be Expensive. To me this is a smell of understated luxury, impeccable taste and natural elegance. Apart from smelling expensive, Daim Blond does indeed smell like suede, albeit suede that has absorbed its wearer’s rather sweet fruity-floral perfume.

L'Artisan Mure Et Musc. (Extreme)

A very fresh and somewhat playful perfume consisting of musk, blackberries and citrus. A stronger version of the classic Mure Et Musc, with heightened blackberries sweetness while remaining elegant. Like the very refined lady who catches the roguishly handsome stable boy’s eye and lets him know she’s off for a walk in the woods and would love a bit of company.

My wishlist - L'Artisan Orange Blossom 2005 or Fleur d'Oranger. I first sniffed it when I followed Saresha to Escential at Raffles Hotel. THe first sniff blew my mind away. I was immediately transported to a field of orange blossom, imagine a picture out of the field of Tunisia. Unfortunately the price tag equally blew my mind away, at more than $500 per bottle, which is certainly out of my buying price range.

How I wish i got more performance bonus!!
