Amusing MRT ride

After many rounds of invitation to my colleagues L's mother kampong place at the outskirt of Shanghai, I finally said yes.

Yes, because I feel very "paiseh" to decline so many times since the first invitation started last year. So this morning I left home at 12pm noon and head my way to the outskirt of Shanghai to experience the "laid back kampong lives" which is fast disappearing in the modern city of Shanghai. .

From my place, I have to take Line 2 to 四季大道( Si Ji Da Dao ) and change to Line 8 all the way to the end of the station 港城路。On my way there in Line 8, I was sitting across this young girl who was camwhoring all the way for the moment she got onto the train right to she got off.

At first, she didn't catch my attention but after awhile , she GOT my attention. Honestly, I am not the type to snap other people in open like *chee go pek* cos I am a strong believer of privacy but hey... she was doing it for almost 30 mins, adjusting the camera, holding it at different angles and so so oblivious to the rest of the commuters that I HAD to capture this prizeless moment.

Pic 1 - At first I was wondering why a girl is holding her hand so far out with her hp at this awkward angle. Then it dawn on me that she is camwhoring herself. This poses was repeated many times that I couldn't help but whip out my phone to snap.

Pic no 2, after several shots the girl would examine her own shots in her camera (PDA phone hor).

Pic 3 - Not happy with the effect? Take again. this time front shot. She took many shots at this angle, adjusting her face, her hair, checking her own phone. (I believe we past 2 stops while she was at it)

The previous pictures must have been to close for her, so thus she changed her hp position to taking a further shot and adjusting her hair. The man sitting on her far right was also staring at her throughout the whole journey, and I was also busy playing with phone and snapping away.

Though the ride was about an hour long, it didn't feel that way because, I was very entertained.

I've seen groups of young ppl taking pics of themselves like this, but not just one person. I'm just curious, why of all places on a train to the outskirts of town? Why not at home? (Not expecting you guys to know why, just wondering out loud.)

So you got take pics of the kampong? It really does sound like those old Chinese movies.
